Out of Canada, Into Kenya - Danielle's Journal

tomorrow

We leave tomorrow morning! I can’t believe it’s come so soon. I’ve dreamt about traveling since I was old enough to read but the reality of it is just sinking in now. The reality of seeing things awe inspiring with amazing people total different from myself. The reality of hunger and pain and loneliness. I’m excited for Africa to come alive to us. I am so completely sleepy right now I don’t even have butterflies in my belly. The reality wil sink in when we can hear, taste, see, smell and feel Africa, its people and culture.

Now our job is to do this experience justice. Doing this through acts of true servanthood. Lord, give us the strength to really love others unselfishly. Help us keep our priorities and remember that we are not there for our own experience or our own benefit but rather because it is where God created us to be at this time in our lives, serving Him.
